Wayunki is currently available in 7 tuning variations. 7 tuning variations. You can listen to sound samples of all tunings directly on our website: https://wayunki.com/ladeni/

Each tuning is intuitively assigned to one of the four elements – Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Each element and each tuning carries a different atmosphere, character, and quality.

How to choose the right tuning:

  • Intuitively – choose the tuning you like the most based on the sound samples.
  • According to the instruments you play – if you want to combine Wayunki with other instruments, it is important to know:
    • the key of your instrument,
    • the reference frequency (A = 440 Hz or A = 432 Hz)

  • How to find out whether your instrument will match a specific Wayunki tuning:
    • Using a tuner – you can easily check the key, individual notes, and reference frequency using a tuner (for example a mobile app). Then compare the detected tones with the tones of the individual Wayunki tunings.
    • Practically – you can play the sound sample of the tuning on our website and play your instrument along with it. By ear, you can determine whether the instruments sound in tune together.

  • Choose according to the mood and atmosphere you want the instrument to carry:
    • G major, A major – lightness of air, dreaming, surrender, calmness of mind, ascent, a feeling of flight (works better for the heart area and above).
    • A minor, F# minor – flow of water, immersion, depth, calming of emotions (works better for the lower energy centers).
    • A / D minor – presence, grounding, playfulness, lightness of being.
    • G / C minor – depth, mystery, passion, inner fire, dramatic quality.
    • G / C major – brightness, joy, encouragement, lightness, upward energy (works better from the throat upward).
    •

For interesting harmonic combinations, tension, and dynamics, we recommend playing multiple tunings together..

In short:

  • A = 440 Hz is the globally agreed standard tuning of musical instruments today, so musicians around the world can play together. When you play the note A1 on such an instrument, it has a frequency of 440 Hz. All other tones are derived from this reference.
  • A = 432 Hz is a tuning that sounds slightly lower, but the intervals between tones remain in the same ratios, so the character of the tuning does not change. Some musicians prefer 432 Hz, which they perceive as “more natural” or more harmonious with nature.

Both variants sound very similar, but they cannot be combined well together – it will sound out of tune.

Neither tuning is “better” than the other. It is a matter of personal perception and point of view. Some people use 432 Hz, others 440 Hz. There is a lot of constructive as well as misleading information on this topic online.
